About Me

I am a Whitstable artist and explorer of things. I love to intertwine various mediums, textures and subjects. My artwork aims to evoke a sense of connection between the viewer and the natural world and it’s important for me to capture the essence and beauty of the places I visit. For two years I created with found treasures such as driftwood and shells that have been washed up by the tide and collaged them in a way that looks as if that's how they were found. A convergence of things.

The sea, beach huts, and expansive open skies of my home town, Whitstable, are where I find most joy. I am captivated by the textures of the sea defences, the sway of the seaweed and the light on the mudflats at low tide and I try to evoke this in my paintings.

I am a part of the ‘Drawing is Free’ community and paint or draw up to fourteen portraits a week. I have started to include them in my work for sale. During 2025 I shall be painting a series of at least 12 paintings, aiming to represent my life through memories, imagination and dreams.

We used to have a miniature long haired dachshund called Elmo and I often painted him (you can see some of the paintings in the Dogs section)! I take commissions and paint or draw other people’s dogs. Whilst I would rather meet your dog if I can, I am very happy to paint or draw them from photographs if this isn’t possible.
